What central story is at the core of you, and how do you share it with the world?

I believe in magic of all sorts. Sparklers— they’re a very reliable sort of magic. Put a flame to the tip of a sparkler stick, and seconds later you’ve got tiny plumes of light bursting out in all directions. You can see the energy exploding from your fingertips. It’s glorious. You remember Einstein’s pearl of wisdom: energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed. Your hands sparked the match, and the flame lit the sparkler. That’s sparkler’s got some you in it. And that, my friend, is magic.
I get excited and make things. It’s my way of the day. As a major fan of energy transformation, I know that creating something is a damn good way of cycling my energy out into the world, and just like a boomerang, it’ll come back to me. I make photographs and share them with anyone and everyone who drops by the House. Ask any photographer and they’ll agree— a little bit of you is in every picture you create. Every time I revisit my photo collection, I revisit those moments of magic and it makes me feel like the Moon, full & bright in a clear night sky. Every time someone lets me know they’ve connected with an image or another, I feel like twice the Moon. Boomerang.
I collect intriguing things. It’s how I fill the well. You gotta put in what you take out, and if you want to get excited you’ve got to surround yourself with sources of enchantment. It’s a very important reminder that there are plenty of people like you out in the world; folks who pursue art and adventure and fantastic sensations, because that’s what makes them full & bright. You are a card-holding member of this community. It’s a wide-eyed life.
31/31: This post is the finale entry of the December promptathon, #reverb10.

You look gloriously happy.
A beautiful photograph and a sparkling and inspiring post! Especially this, which I am going to carry around in my pocket for the rest of the day: ‘surround yourself with sources of enchantment.’ Thank you!
I’ve just discovered your blog…I love it!
